Based in Lugano, NNAISENSE has built a generative AI framework for financial markets to enable the prediction of coherent market scenarios across multiple asset classes, data sources and modalities. The company has been acquired by German asset management firm, ACATIS Investment KVG.

Built on their successful partnership spanning more than ten years, ACATIS Investment KVG, a pioneer in AI-supported portfolio management with around 10.0 billion euros (30 June 2025 assets under management, has completed the acquisition of AI research company NNAISENSE to strengthen its technological leadership in the field of artificial intelligence.

Founded in 2014, the NNAISENSE team comprising some of the leading minds in the field of artificial intelligence, led by Prof. Dr. Jürgen Schmidhuber has developed a novel generative AI framework for financial markets. This proprietary Large Investing Model (LIM)– developed by AI pioneer Alex Graves (formerly of DeepMind) and NNAISENSE following more than 20 years of scientific research – enables the prediction of coherent market scenarios across multiple asset classes, data sources and modalities, including macroeconomic, fundamental and alternative data.

Through this acquisition, ACATIS has secured exclusive access to and development rights for NNAISENSE’s LIM while NNAISENSE continues its research and development as part of the ACATIS Group. The scaleup will focus on further developing the LIM exclusively for ACATIS and its portfolio management to complement the existing AI systems already successfully deployed at ACATIS and significantly expand the company’s technological expertise.

NNAISENSE will maintain its headquarters and research facility in Lugano to ensure continuity.

“The acquisition of NNAISENSE is a logical and transformative step for us,” says Dr. Hendrik Leber, founder and managing director of ACATIS. “With NNAISENSE’s Large Investing Model in-house, we have a unique asset to continue delivering superior results for our investors in the future.”

“Becoming part of the ACATIS-Group opens up fantastic opportunities for us,” adds Faustino Gomez, CEO of NNAISENSE. “Our fundamental AI research can now be directly applied to portfolio management.
