Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds adds Joker in upcoming update this week

On Oct. 21, 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds published a post on X announcing the addition of Joker from Persona 5 on Oct. 22, 2025. Together with his addition, it looks like a themed car tailored to the Phantom Thieves of Hearts is also included in the event.

Aside from the car and the character, a festival called the Joker Festival will also run from Oct. 23 to Oct. 26, 2025. While the festival is happening, players are not able to play World Match, which is the ranked mode of the game.

Joker is the latest addition to the characters available in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Before him, Steve, Alex and Creeper from Minecraft were added to the lineup on Oct. 9, 2025. Their addition included a new machine, a new course and lots of music.

And even before the addition of the Minecraft characters, SpongeBob SquarePants characters were also added to the game, as well as Sega’s very own Hatsune Miku. While the Minecraft collaboration was part of the game’s paid DLC, Joker’s addition seems to be free, as it said in the X post that he’s part of the Free Update.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a racing game from Sega featuring the iconic blue hedgehog Sonic and his friends. The game was on Sept. 25, 2025, for the PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
