Yakuza Kiwami 3 Officially Announced by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio
Yakuza Kiwami 3 has officially been confirmed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio during the RGG Summit 2025 at Tokyo Game Show 2025. The game was initially leaked a week ago after the studio’s website showed it alongside the first two Yakuza remakes: Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2.
The newly announced remake will feature the Dragon Engine, which was used in more modern Yakuza games such as Yakuza 6, Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. The game’s trailer showed some of its capabilities and even included English voice acting.
Additionally, the remake will also include another game called Dark Ties, which will focus on Yoshitaka Mine from Yakuza 3 and tell his story about how he navigated the dark world after losing everything he once had.
Yakuza Kiwami 3’s deluxe edition will contain the following:
- Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties
- Ryukyu Gal Gang: Legendary Character Outfit Pack
- Ryukyu Gal Gang: Legendary Lads & Gals Pack
- Customization Pack
- Flip Phone Customization Set
- Legendary BGM CD Pack
Pre-ordering the game will add the fan-favorite Ichiban Kasuga to the Ryukyu Gal Gang. It’s unclear whether the DLC will be sold after the pre-order window has expired.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 will be released on Feb. 12, 2025, for the PC, PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The original Yakuza 3 was released on the PlayStation 3 in Japan in 2009. The worldwide version followed a year later.
