Spellcasters Chronicles 3v3 MOBA begins closed beta registration

Quantic Dream SA announced the start of Spellcasters Chronicles closed beta registration. To request access, players must log into Steam and click the “Request Access” button on the game’s store page. The user will be emailed upon closed beta registration approval. Spellcasters Chronicles is an upcoming free-to-play 3v3 third-person MOBA; no set release date is readily available. As of writing, the game is only confirmed to be coming to PC via Steam, with no other console ports planned.

Gamers can play as a powerful mage and team up with allies to outplay the enemy. The game features aerial combat, with hundreds of creatures fighting alongside the player. The player can customize their playstyle by equipping from an “ever-expanding list of more than 50 spells and summons from seven schools of magic.”

There is no exact Spellcasters Chronicles closed beta release date; the Steam posting states it will begin “before the end of 2025.”

Founder and CEO of Quantic Dream, David Cage, made a post communicating the studio’s direction on Oct. 16. The studio pushed the boundaries of interactive storytelling over the past 28 years, but in 2016, it entered a new phase of growth and innovation. The studio size grew substantially, and it became its own publisher.

Within the post, Cage states that Spellcasters is very different from what they’ve done before.

“But taking risks, challenging ourselves, and exploring new ways of playing and telling stories, and attempting what seems impossible, has always been part of our DNA. […] Earning the trust of players, standing out in such a competitive space, and introducing fresh concepts is incredibly challenging,” he admits.

Development of Star Wars: Eclipse is continuing, with more communication regarding the state of the game expected in the future.
