Former Disco Elysium Devs Dark Math Games Rebrand Their Debut Project as Third-Person RPG

The studio of former Disco Elysium developers, Dark Math Games, announced the rebranding of its forthcoming debut project XXX Nightshift: Xenia’s Speech into Tangerine Antarctic and its reconstruction into a third-person RPG from the initially planned isometric Disco Elysium-style view.

While the studio didn’t disclose the reason for the shift, it may be related to the recently revealed Disco Elysium spiritual successor, Zero Parades, from the game’s original studio ZA/UM, and two more projects from former ZA/UM devs: Hopetown from Longue and a yet-unnamed project from Summer Eternal.

In Tangerine Antarctic, players assume the role of a Patrol Op on a holiday weekend at World’s End Ski Resort, Mt. Hope, Antarctica. The game’s description on Steam promises that the main character can be shaped in 20 different traits across four categories.

Besides that, the detective RPG will feature a special Marafet Calculations system, which will allow players to alter in-game time and space to gain deeper insights and discover connections while investigating.
