SNK World Championship 2025 Set for Late October, Prize Pool Exceeds $4M

SNK Corporation announced on September 19, 2025, via a press release that the SNK World Championship 2025 will take place at DreamHack Atlanta from October 31 to November 2. The prize pool of the whole tournament has exceeded $4 million, divided among the four games in the circuit.

While the highlight of the tournament is that there’s over $4 million on the line distributed among four games, most of it actually goes to the studio’s latest game, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Here’s the prize pool for each of the games:

Both Samurai Shodown and Art of Fighting 3’s prize distribution is still within the normal ranges, but Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and The King of Fighters XV, to some extent, have it the worst.

As mentioned above, the prize pool for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is $2.5 million. The first-place prize is $1.5 million, while the second-place prize is $300,000. This essentially makes the grand final a $1.2 million money match between the two. This prize distribution hasn’t gone unnoticed online, however, and has been talked about in the fighting game community because of how brutal it is.

SNK also mentioned that the last-chance qualifiers will happen at DreamHack Atlanta. Two spots remain available for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, one spot for The King of Fighters XV, and four slots for Samurai Shodown are available for grabs.
