Hunt: Showdown 1896’s Web of the Empress Season Kicks Off Tomorrow
Hunt: Showdown 1896’s newest event, Web of the Empress, will kick off tomorrow, Sept. 24, 2025. The event will introduce new weapons, items and even locations that players can encounter while the event is active.
Web of the Empress will also introduce a Tarot Card system that players can find in Bilewater Nests at web-covered locations. Here are some of the tarot cards that can be found:
- The Empress: Grants the Catalyst, Necromancer, and a random rare trait.
- The World: Reveals the location of all Boss targets.
- The Fool: Copies the last Tarot Card you used this Mission.
- The Hanged Man: Allows you to spectate the nearest enemy Hunter. The target will be warned afterwards.
- The Tower: Unleashes massive damage to monsters and Targets in a large radius, but sets the user on fire.
Gameplay changes will also happen in update 2.5, the same update that contains the Web of the Empress event. According to the post, fixes and improvements to the game’s meta and user interface should be expected. New Scarce Weapons Homestead 78 and Wildland will be added to the game.
Melee combat has also improved, with the developer stating that hit detection has “received significant improvements for better consistency and the maximum reach of melee attachments has been increased.”
The recent devstream also revealed more information, such as the heavily requested feature of being able to invite a random third person into the lobby.
Hunt: Showdown 1896 is a first-person extraction shooter that was initially released in August 2019 for the PC. A month after that, an Xbox One version followed, with PlayStation 4 & 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions being released in the following years.
