Nintendo Stealthily Releases Fire Emblem Shadows on Smartphones

On Sept. 25, 2025, Nintendo released Fire Emblem Shadows for Android and iOS. The company called it a “spin-off of the Fire Emblem series and introduces a new style of battles featuring role-playing and social deduction.”

Nintendo seems to want to hammer down the fact that social deduction is a heavy part of the game, as the words “deceive” and “treachery” have appeared quite a few times in the press release it has published.

Together with its release, Nintendo announced the game’s Season Pass called the Wind of the Plains. This includes Lyn’s Soul, and collecting 12 of them allows the player to recruit Lyn and use them in the game. A 7-star bow, Mulagir, can also be acquired, together with different Magic skills.

Outfits are also available for purchase, namely:

  • Kurt’s onesie
  • Gotthold’s onesie
  • Carina’s onesie
  • Alberta’s onesie
  • Zasha’s onesie
  • Rose’s onesie

Fire Emblem Shadows is the second Fire Emblem game to be available only on smartphones. The first one was Fire Emblem Heroes, which was released back in February 2017. Recently, Nintendo announced a new mainline Fire Emblem game that is currently in development.
