Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to debut Minecraft Crossover Pack

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is debuting its Minecraft-themed event on Oct. 9 at 8 pm ET, serving as the first wave of season pass content. During the event, players will be able to race through various Minecraft-themed biomes and locations; the event lasts until Oct. 11 at 7:59 pm ET.  Players who have not purchased the DLC can still participate in the event, while the characters Steve Alex and the Creeper are locked behind a paywall.

The trailer teasing the collaboration was released on Oct. 6, 2025; no gameplay assets were showcased during the trailer. Instead, the 52-second trailer has Steve create a ramp, launching himself into a ring, and supposedly transported into the world of Sonic Racing.

Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a direct competitor to Mario Kart World; SEGA even called out Mario Kart in one of its latest trailers for the title. Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds released on Sept. 25, 2025, for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. On Steam, the title’s peak concurrent player count was 13,630. The Switch 2 version of the game is coming later in the year, and the title supports full cross-platform play.
