Mass Effect-like sci-fi RPG Exodus from former BioWare devs drops new details, opens for wishlisting
Exodus developers have rolled out a Q&A video revealing more details about the game on October 15, 2025, alongside the launch of the title’s pages on Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation, and Xbox storefronts.
Published by Wizards of the Coast and set 40,000 years in the future, the Mass Effect-like action-adventure RPG from Archetype Entertainment, a studio formed by ex-BioWare devs, will allow players to assume control over Jun Aslan, the Traveler, leading humanity’s fight for survival against the Celestials.
One of the major game’s features the dev team revealed is the Recycler, a weapon described as a “flux capacitor” that picks up scrap material and crafts resources on the go and also works like a base gun.
Regarding combat design, according to the title’s developers, Exodus fully supports stealth gameplay, allowing players to ghost entire missions, take down enemies silently, and also allows bursting in loud and tanking poor NPCs, leaving the playstyle choice to the player.
As of now, it is known that players will confront three types of enemies in the game: human factions, Celestial Constructs, and creatures corrupted with The Rot, which makes foes more aggressive and dangerous.
According to Archetype Entertainment, Exodus is true to its Mass Effect-inspired roots, and its side quests won’t be just filler stories but will deepen the narrative, allowing players to strengthen bonds with companions, unlock valuable skill upgrades, and immerse players more deeply in the game’s universe.
It is now clear that the upcoming title will be playable on Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, while there is no information about a version for Nintendo Switch 2.
