Riot developer ApologyMan hits rank one in 2XKO, becoming the first one to do so
On Oct. 19, 2025, Riot Games QA developer Vineeth “ApologyMan” Meka published a post on X showing a screenshot where he’s currently at the top of 2XKO’s leaderboard, outplacing even the game’s top players such as Christopher “NYChrisG” Gonzalez and Steve “Supernoon” Carbajal.
“Was fun to finally get around to playing Ranked this week but I definitely will not have the time to maintain this between work and unpacking,” said ApologyMan in the post. Even Riot Games involved itself by congratulating ApologyMan using a meme. According to him, he used Ekko and Teemo during the climb, but he will be trying out some other teams, too.
While ApologyMan is considered a 2XKO developer nowadays, he was a high-level player in a lot of fighting games back then, including Guilty Gear, Marvel vs. Capcom and even Dragon Ball FighterZ. He’s popular for his usage of an unorthodox team of Firebrand, Dr. Doom and Super-Skrull in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and even finished third at EVO 2015 using that team.
The recent game he competed on was Guilty Gear Strive, with his most recent tournament being this year in April. However, it’s safe to say that with 2XKO being released, he will focus more on the game’s development rather than competing.
